If, like me, you grew up listening to artists such as Boards of Canada, Casino Versus Japan and Tycho, these patches are a love letter to that world of sound: hazy, fluttering and noisy, with plenty of old-school character beneath their relative simplicity.
This is my second time owning a MiniFreak. The first time around, it found itself competing with my Hydrasynth, and I couldn’t quite justify keeping both. Sometimes, though, it’s worth returning to something that first caught your attention and taking the time to explore it properly.
Every patch includes mod-wheel variation to introduce additional movement and character.
Use Arturia’s MiniFreak software tools to import the presets and transfer them to the hardware or software instrument.
